February, a relatively mild one this year following a snowy and cold January.

February, not March, is early Spring to me. Green exists all Winter, though subdued, but the brighter greens begin to appear in February and there's still enough of Winter to explore.

Wet Bark

The two bottom photos reveal dramatically the darkening effect of water (rain) on tree bark caused, I assume, by the absorbed layer of water altering  the reflectivity of light. It's one of those mysteries of optics that I don't understand well - and it results in the darkened aspect of wet woods.
