Leaf
color is late this Autumn due to a late first frost, I suppose (none here yet), -
but I hear different theories.
More
interesting to me is the idea of color and the return of much
that was living and vivid - to earth tones (browns, grays and
blacks). What
significance, if any, does that loss of vibrant hues have for
us?
Not
all creatures see as we do - some see a larger range, some
smaller.
Color
is associated with the spectrum of light that is translated
through our eyes by our brain.
There
is no reason to assume that the color we see and respond to has
anything but a passing relationship to the reality of what
actually exists
Color is our interpretation of certain phenomena - in this case,
living material.
And
so, I wonder at the significance of this for us.
