July
2010
This year's July, a very hot month
- with
temperatures frequently in the 90s and little rain. But Summer
is with us for only awhile and I usually feel regret at the end
of the season.

Above is a color negative of some Black Locust
leaves with a little additional color adjustment. The Black Locust is very
common to the area. On the left (409.3), a falling seed has pierced a
standing Milkweed plant creating a mini-sense of danger from an unexpected
source. Below (409.6) the Hibiscus-like Rose
or Swamp Mallow show large (6 inch) blooms on tall stalks.
