Below,
the first touch of color presaging the change of season to
Autumn - the first to turn is frequently Virginia Creeper, the
first leaves shed are from the Sycamore, though they show no
reds as they lose their chlorophyll. Deep yellow is the
prominent flower color and insects are numerous on them.

On the left, in what is
an apparent adaptive mimicry of the bee (or vice versa?), the Hoverfly
is nicely contrasted against the Chicory flower. Chicory, one of my
favorites for its unusual lavender-blue-white coloration and its stem-less
blossoms, often found mixed in with Queen Anne's Lace.
On the right, the usually reclusive Whitetail
Deer that roam our town streets through the night.
