Insects abound, though there are few mosquitos in the area I photograph - a little surprising because of all the water.

The spiders are full sized (398.2) - the Wolf spider is not a web constructor and relying instead on direct capture. I never saw the spider that built 398.5.

Cicadas chirr in the trees - the one I photographed had probably fallen or was knocked from a higher perch.

Pokeweed (398.3) - one of my late Summer favorites for its intensity of contrasting color. According to some, the Declaration of Independence was written in fermented Pokeweed berry juice.
