Early
- Mid August 2009
Heavy
August full of dew . . . lots of insects to walk through . .
.deeper color, stronger scent . . . I'd like to keep it, but I
can't.
I
sense the end of Summer and already feel its passing. Oh well,
something interesting is bound to follow . I've been through
this before. :-)

The Ailanthus
Webworm Moth is a mosaic patterned insect that reminds me of the
visual variety present wherever we look (if we look with some purpose).
They are one of the few things that dine on the Ailanthus tree in their
larval state (as caterpillars).
Leafhoppers
( 397.6) are entertaining to watch as they try to avoid the intruding
camera by retreating to the other side of the plant stem - reminds me of
squirrel behavior - always retreating to the out-of-view side of the tree.
They also hop when touched (as do squirrels?)
