This year, we have had a short, but brilliant display of Autumn leaves. The iconic transformation began late this year such that October still showed mostly green.

Mostly skeletal trees >> now line the canal. Notice the branches leaning toward the open space created by the water.

The Woolly Bear >>> caterpillar on the right is a species that has proverbially been able to predict the severity of the coming Winter by the relation of the brown band to the black. Here's more.

Contrast on the left and on the right. A time lapse video might show the melting of the colors into a sameness of  browns- something to imagine.
